John Bonnett is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at Brock University, affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities. His research focuses on intellectual history, digital humanities, and the writings of Harold Innis. He led the 3D Virtual Buildings Project and DataScapes Project, advancing critical thinking through 3D modeling and interdisciplinary art. Bonnett holds a former Tier II Canada Research Chair in Digital Humanities (2005-2015) and authored Emergence and Empire: Innis, Complexity and the Trajectory of History, awarded the 2014 Gertrude K. Robinson Prize. He teaches digital history and historical GIS, emphasizing innovative methodologies in historical scholarship.
