John Black is an Assistant Professor at The Master’s University (TMU–IBEX), where he focuses on biblical studies in the context of the land where Scripture unfolded. He holds a B.S. in Biology from Shippensburg University, an M.S. in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University, a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Graduate Certificate from Jerusalem University College.
His research interests include Old Testament scholarship, theological education, and experiential biblical learning. John actively combines academic rigor with practical ministry, serving as a Senior Pastor and preaching regularly. He also contributes to leadership teams for church initiatives like the Young Adult Fellowship.
Before full-time ministry, John had a diverse career as a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and in pharmaceutical sales at Eli Lilly & Company. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in Old Testament at Bar Ilan University in Israel.
