John Bertolini is a Professor of English at Middlebury College, where he has held academic roles since 1975, progressing from Assistant to Full Professor. He specializes in literary studies with a focus on drama, film, and Renaissance literature. His research centers on figures like Bernard Shaw, George Bernard Shaw, Hitchcock’s cinema, and Renaissance tragedy. He has served as Chair of the English Department, Chair of Literary Studies, and holds the Ellis Professor of Liberal Arts title since 1997.
