Dr. John A. McClendon is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Management Department at Temple University’s Fox School of Business. He teaches across undergraduate, MBA, Executive MBA, and PhD programs, leading a department serving over 1,000 students annually. With 41 years of HR experience, his research focuses on performance management and labor-relations, published in journals like International Journal of Selection and Assessment. He has held visiting roles at institutions in Paris, Singapore, and Edinburgh.
McClendon has received numerous teaching awards, including Temple’s highest honor, the Great Teacher Award (2006), and multiple program-specific recognitions. He directed Temple’s Master of Science in HR program from 1997–2013 and has international teaching experience in Rome, Tokyo, and Singapore. His expertise spans organizational leadership, HR strategies, and workforce development.
