Johannes M. Nitsche

Johannes M. Nitsche is a SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, University at Buffalo, State University of New York. His research focuses on transport phenomena, bioactive surfaces, biological pores, and transdermal transport.

Research Interests:Transport phenomena in biological systems; modeling of skin permeability and transdermal drug delivery; anisotropic diffusion in lipid membranes; mathematical modeling of biological transport processes; keratin binding dynamics; erythrocyte volume regulation.

Publications:With over 60 publications and 2,122 citations, his work spans microscopic transport models for skin permeability, gap junctional permeability, convection-diffusion in dynamic media, and electrostatic interactions in charged systems.
