Johannes Junker

Johannes Junker serves as Professor of Drama Therapy at Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences (HfWU), holding dual administrative roles as Vice Dean and Dean of Studies for the Theatre Therapy BA program, alongside his position as Senate Commissioner for Ethics.

His academic foundation includes:

• Theology and Philosophy studies at University of Trier and Goethe University Frankfurt
• Drama Therapy specialization at Radboud University Nijmegen
• Integrative Psychology training in Rossum, Netherlands

Professor Junker's research integrates theological perspectives with expressive arts therapies, pioneering ethical frameworks in drama therapy practice. His clinical approach emphasizes the intersection of spiritual dimensions and mental health treatment through artistic modalities, particularly in psychiatric settings.

He currently leads the European Association for Drama Therapy as President and serves on the board of the German Association for Art and Design Therapy, driving international standards in therapeutic education and practice.

Administratively, he oversees curriculum development for HfWU's Theatre Therapy program while advising university ethics protocols, building on his 21 years of clinical leadership at Germany's LVR psychiatric clinic in Bedburg-Hau.
