Professor Dr. Johannes Becker holds the Professorship of Public Economics I at the University of Münster's School of Business and Economics. His work focuses on theoretical and empirical public economics, with emphasis on international taxation, tax competition, and corporate tax policy.

Becker's research explores how multinational enterprises respond to tax policies, particularly in R&D-driven economies and digital sectors. He has published extensively on tax havens, minimum taxation, and fiscal equalization.
In 2012, he received the Sir Alexander Cairncross Prize (Scottish Economic Society), and in 2008, the IIPF Young Economists Award. His teaching includes courses on Public Economics, International Tax Policy, and Microeconomics at bachelor, master, and doctoral levels.
