Johanna Schwarz

Johanna Schwarz is a Lecturer in DTT Pedagogy (Textiles) at the Department of Fine Arts & Design, Mozarteum University Salzburg. She is an artist with international exhibition experience, specializing in textile design and visual education. Her work integrates traditional craft techniques with contemporary art, focusing on natural dyes and textile materials. She teaches art and design, technology and design, and subject didactics at the university, alongside years of experience in school-level education.

Her artistic practice explores textiles' relationship with the human body, creating wearable forms that both protect and constrain movement. Notable projects include Rosig Blass Zyanotisch, Resting Stones, and participations in residencies like IN-HOUSE and the Textilkunstgalerie Salzburg. Her work has been exhibited at venues such as Steingasse and documented in projects like Körperkörbe/bodybaskets.
