Johann M. Vento is a Professor of Religious Studies and Theology at Georgian Court University, affiliated with the School of Arts, Sciences, and Education and the Department of Religious Studies, Theology, and Philosophy. He holds a Ph.D. in Theology (Systematic Theology) from Fordham University (2000) and an M.A. in Theology (Church History) from Washington Theological Union (1990). His research focuses on practice theory, theology, spiritual formation, violence and trauma, healing, inter-religious dialogue, political theology, feminist theologies, and popular religion.

He has served as Chair of the Department of Religious Studies, Theology, and Philosophy since 2001. His professional experience includes interfaith dialogue facilitation (Elijah Interfaith Institute, 2007–2012), theology lecturing at College of the Holy Cross (2000–2001), and roles in education and community programming from 1990–2000. Office hours: Tuesdays 10:00–11:30 am; Thursdays 10:00–11:30 am and 4:00–5:00 pm.
