Joey Huang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting at Monash University, having joined in July 2015. His teaching focuses on financial accounting, and he holds memberships in key professional bodies including the American Accounting Association and the European Accounting Association. His research interests span auditing, forensic accounting, earnings management, corporate governance, and China-specific accounting issues. Dr. Huang serves on the editorial boards of Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory and International Journal of Auditing, and has published in top-tier journals such as The Accounting Review and European Accounting Review. He has led research projects including studies on audit disclosures and investor perceptions. Notable awards include the 2013 Best Paper Award and the 2024 Dean’s Award for Teaching Innovation.
His research explores topics like audit quality, regulatory reforms in China, and the impact of auditor-audit committee relationships. Joey has actively contributed to academic conferences and peer-review processes, furthering the field’s scholarly discourse. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals through enhanced corporate transparency and governance practices.
