Joeri van Hugten is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Department of Management and Organisation, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His research focuses on entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, and psychological factors influencing entrepreneurial decisions. He holds a PhD in Business from Tilburg University (2015).
Research interests include entrepreneurial self-efficacy, personality traits in decision-making, psychological flexibility, and causal inference methodologies. His work bridges psychological theories with organizational dynamics, exploring how traits like agreeableness or extraversion shape entrepreneurial outcomes.
Recent studies examine post-disaster entrepreneurship constraints, decision-making logics in product-service integration, and resilience among failed entrepreneurs. He teaches courses on enterprising behavior and strategic entrepreneurship. No ancillary activities are reported.
