Joelle Tasker is an Assistant Lecturer and PhD student in the Department of Government at the University of Essex. Her research focuses on public opinion, political psychology, and survey research, particularly examining ideological inconsistencies in UK politics.
- Education: MSc in Political Science (University of Essex, 2022), BSc in Politics & International Relations (University of Exeter, 2019).
Her thesis investigates how individuals' self-described ideological identities align with their political attitudes using quantitative analysis of the British Election Study and an original survey experiment. Funded by a South East Network for Social Sciences (SeNSS) studentship, her work bridges academic research with practical insights into political behavior.
Supervised by Professor Royce Carroll and Professor Rob Johns, Joelle contributes to both teaching and research at the University of Essex. She is based at the Colchester Campus and can be reached via joelle.tasker@essex.ac.uk.
