Joel Potter is a Professor of Economics at the Mike Cottrell College of Business, University of North Georgia, where he has been a faculty member since 2008 following his Ph.D. completion at Kansas State University. His research focuses on sports economics and applied microeconomic analysis with global academic impact.

His publications consistently explore microeconomic applications in athletic contexts and experimental finance.
Teaching & Service: Instructs Principles of Microeconomics (ECON 2106), Sports Economics (ECON 3580), and undergraduate research seminars (ECON 3299). Since 2020, he has advised student-athletes at MCCB while maintaining active scholarly engagement through conference presentations and peer review activities.
