Farah Ishaq is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education within the College of Education at Northern Illinois University (NIU). She holds a Ph.D. in Sport Management from the University of Kansas (2019), a Master’s in Sport Administration from Northwestern University (2016), and a Bachelor’s in Hospitality Management from Iowa State University (2013).

Dr. Ishaq's research centers on student-athlete academics, higher education theory, and intercollegiate athletics. Her work explores how academic support systems, high-impact educational practices, and institutional policies affect student-athlete success. She also investigates sport marketing, social media use by athletes, and the broader impact of athletics on university life, including donor behavior and alumni engagement.
Her recent publications and presentations reveal a strong emphasis on qualitative research, academic integration in athletics, and the sociological dimensions of college sports. She frequently collaborates with scholars on topics such as NCAA compliance, conference realignment, and post-graduation transitions for international student-athletes.
