Joel Manyam is a Senior Lecturer at the Te Piringa Faculty of Law, University of Waikato. He holds a Diploma in Education (University of the South Pacific, 1979), LL.B. (University of Canterbury, 1985), and Master of Taxation Studies (University of Auckland, 1998 with First Class Honours). His research focuses on commercial law, taxation, corporate governance, and Pacific legal frameworks, with particular expertise in Indigenous legal structures. He has advised the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) and acted as Counsel in tax-related litigation.
Teaching & Supervision: He teaches Employment Law, Revenue Law, Banking & Finance Law, and supervises advanced research in these areas. Recent courses include LEGAL420 (Employment Law) and LEGAL580 (Advanced Banking & Finance Law).
