Joel MacClellan

Joel MacClellan is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Loyola University New Orleans, specializing in applied ethics, environmental ethics, and the philosophy of science. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Akron and a Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee. His career includes Peace Corps service in Panama, a New York University Animal Studies Initiative fellowship, and visiting professorships at Washington State University and Binghamton University, SUNY. His research focuses on ethical frameworks for environmental issues, animal ethics, and interdisciplinary approaches to science and society.

MacClellan teaches courses such as Environmental Ethics, Medical Ethics, and Philosophy of Science, emphasizing practical applications of ethical theory.
