Joe Ravenhill

Joe Ravenhill is a Lecturer in Interior Design at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), affiliated with the Department of Creative and Cultural Industries within the Faculty of Arts, Creative Industries and Education. His work bridges creative practice and academic teaching, with a strong focus on interactive, human-centered design experiences that integrate physical and digital elements.

His expertise lies in concept generation, exhibition design, CAD, visualization, and sustainable design communication. He actively collaborates with institutions such as the Global Goals Centre and engages in interdisciplinary projects involving VR, archaeology, and photography. His teaching emphasizes ideation, interactivity, and sustainability.

Joe is a proud Bristolian and advocate for local cultural initiatives, having created notable public installations including a giant octopus for Bristol Aquarium and an immersive flight gallery at Bristol Museum. He is passionate about connecting students with industry opportunities and enhancing graduate employability through real-world design networks.

He holds a BA (Hons) in Furniture and Product Design and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). His research interests include physical-digital interactivity, diversity in design, and sustainable communication.
