Joe Rabaey

Joe Rabaey is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Minnesota Sea Grant, affiliated with the University of Minnesota. He coordinates field and lab work for the project "Carp and Carbon: Climate Change and Ecological and Economic Benefits" from 2023-2025.

• Education: PhD in Ecology, Evolution and Behavior (Aquatic Ecology and Biogeochemistry) from University of Minnesota, BA in Biochemistry from Saint John's University

His research focuses on the impacts of invasive carp on lake carbon cycling, including sediment characteristics, greenhouse gas emissions, and ecological-economic benefits. Current projects include "Carp and Carbon" (2023-2025) and "Assessing Limiting Factors for Cyanobacterial Harmful Algal Blooms" (2022-2024).
