Joe Provencher

Joe Provencher is a doctoral candidate and part-time faculty member in the College of Media & Communication at Texas Tech University. His roles include Graduate Part-Time Instructor, Research Assistant, and Assistant Debate Coach. He holds an M.S. from Portland State University and a B.A. from Willamette University.

Research & Teaching: Provencher specializes in media studies, communication theory, and forensics education. He has taught courses such as 'Sex and Violence in Media,' 'Business and Professional Communication,' and 'Writing for Media and Communication.' His research explores gender studies, organizational transparency, and the intersection of religion and media.

Awards:

• Recipient of the Helen DeVitt-Jones Endowed Fellowship (2015-2018)
• Multiple academic awards from Willamette University, including the Dorothy A. Perkins Prize and Academic Leadership Award

Advising & Leadership: As a debate coach, he led teams to national championships and managed over 100 students annually. His research collaborations include work on organizational transparency published in the Journal of Public Relations Review.
