Joe Maglione is a Quarterly Lecturer in the Department of Accounting at the Leavey School of Business, Santa Clara University (SCU), where he has taught since Fall 2018. His career spans over 40 years in Silicon Valley, culminating in his retirement as a senior audit partner at Deloitte & Touche in May 2018, where he served major technology companies with accounting, auditing, and due diligence services.

- Stanford University Executive Development Program (1990), co-hosted by the American Electronics Association
His expertise includes auditing, financial accounting, venture capital, and corporate growth strategies, particularly for technology companies and startups. He has advised over 30 firms on public offerings and business transitions, reflecting his deep industry experience.
Maglione has been recognized as the Accounting Alumnus of the Year at SCU (1999) and serves on SCU’s Accounting Advisory Board, which he co-founded. He also helped establish the Certified Equity Professional program at SCU, addressing legal, tax, and accounting challenges for stock option professionals.
Outside academia, he served on the Bay Area chapter board of the American Electronics Association, supporting policy initiatives for Silicon Valley, and as Treasurer on the Board of Trustees for Villa Montalvo, overseeing financial revitalization and expansion projects.
