Dr. Jody Gorman is a Lecturer in the School of Chemistry and Molecular Bioscience at the University of Wollongong. Her research examines bacterial pathogenesis mechanisms, focusing on Streptococcus pyogenes virulence factors and antimicrobial resistance in environmental bacteria.
Her investigations include host-pathogen interactions, bacterial evasion of immune responses, and development of sensitive diagnostic assays. Recent work analyzes antibiotic resistance gene dissemination through avian microbiomes and therapeutic strategies for neurodegenerative diseases.
Dr. Gorman's publications advance understanding of microbial adhesion mechanisms, pathogen detection methodologies, and polytherapy approaches for neurological conditions. Her group employs genomic and molecular techniques to study bacterial evolution and infection pathways.
