Jody Culham is a Professor of Psychology and a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Immersive Neuroscience at Western University’s Department of Psychology. Her research focuses on visual cognition, action perception, and neuroimaging techniques, particularly using fMRI and behavioral studies. She is affiliated with the Robarts Research Institute and the Brain and Mind Institute at Western University.
Education: Ph.D. in Psychology (1997) from Harvard University, B.Sc. (Honours) in Psychology (1991) from the University of Calgary.
Research Interests: Investigating how visual information is processed for action, tool use, spatial perception, and the neural basis of real vs. virtual object interactions. Her work emphasizes immersive neuroscience and the interplay between vision, motor control, and cognition.
Awards: Tier 1 Canada Research Chair (Immersive Neuroscience).
Advising & Labs: Supervises graduate students in Psychology and Neuroscience. Leads research in functional neuroimaging and behavioral studies, with a focus on labs at Robarts Research Institute and the Brain and Mind Institute.
