Dr Jodie Avery is a Senior Research Fellow at the Adelaide Medical School, University of Adelaide, specializing in women’s health, mental health, and chronic conditions. She leads the IMAGENDO project (2023 Eureka Award winner) and contributes to the Robinson Research Institute and Population Research and Outcome Studies units.
- Education: PhD in public health, Master of Public Health (2003), degrees in Arts (Politics/Psychology) and Medical Radiations.
- Teaching: Tutor at Schools of Medicine, Public Health, and Psychology (University of Adelaide) and Monash University.
Jodie’s research focuses on restorative health, endometriosis diagnostics, and PCOS quality of life, with themes spanning health literacy, Aboriginal health, and complementary medicine regulation. Her work includes longitudinal studies on PCOS progression and postpartum weight retention risks.
Scientific recognition includes the 2023 Eureka Award for Innovation in Technology. She mentors students and early-career professionals as Vice President of the Public Health Association SA Branch.
