Professor Jodi S. Balsam is a Professor of Clinical Law at Brooklyn Law School and a nationally recognized expert in Sports Law. Her extensive teaching portfolio includes courses at Brooklyn Law School, NYU School of Law, and international institutions. She founded the Sports Law Externship Course and previously directed the law school's externship program. Her professional background includes roles as Counsel for Operations and Litigation at the National Football League (NFL) and litigation work at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP.

Her research focuses on antitrust challenges in sports, athlete rights, sports gambling integrity, league governance, and trademark law. She serves as an arbitrator for NCAA infractions cases and as a neutral for FAIR Sports in commercial disputes involving athlete NIL rights.
Professor Balsam maintains active engagement in academic service, advising the Brooklyn Entertainment and Sports Law Society and contributing to editorial boards of Law360 Sports & Betting and LawInSport. Her scholarship consistently addresses evolving legal frameworks in sports, particularly concerning athlete compensation and regulatory challenges.
