Jochen Taupitz

Jochen Taupitz is a Full Professor at the University of Mannheim since 1990, holding the Chair of Civil Law, Law of Civil Procedure, Private International Law, and Comparative Law. Since 1998, he has served as Managing Director of the Institute for German, European and International Medical Law, Public Health Law and Bioethics of the Universities of Heidelberg and Mannheim.

• Habilitation from University of Göttingen (1988) with thesis on professional codes of ethics

His research focuses on interdisciplinary connections between law and medicine, particularly in medical law, public health law, and bioethics. He integrates insights from medical ethics, natural sciences, and clinical practice into his legal analyses.
