Dr. Jocelyn Ho is a Lecturer (Musicology) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney, and a Horizon Educator. She previously held an Assistant Professor position at UCLA. Her work bridges musicology, performance, and technology, with a focus on embodiment, interdisciplinary art, and feminist practices.
Education:
- Doctor of Musical Arts in Music from Stony Brook University
Research Interests: Ho explores how bodily experience shapes musical meaning through gesture studies, historical recordings, and technology. She investigates non-Western cultural perspectives, race, and gender in performance. Current projects include Women’s Labor (NIME-based installation) and Synaesthesia Playground (interactive piano recitals).
