Jocelyn Boiteau is a Research Fellow and Postdoctoral Associate at the Tata-Cornell Institute (TCI) within the Department of Global Development at Cornell University. Her work focuses on food systems, food loss/waste reduction, and international nutrition. She holds a Ph.D. in international nutrition (2021) and a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University. Prior roles include project administration at Tufts University’s Friedman School and fieldwork with NGOs in Rajasthan, India.
Her research emphasizes measuring food loss in perishable vegetable supply chains, particularly in South India, and developing scalable solutions for global food security. She also explores plant-based alternatives to animal products and standardized frameworks for food loss definitions.
Recent studies include analyzing tomato supply chains, evaluating corn-soy blend programs in Malawi, and comparing supplementary foods in Sierra Leone. Her work bridges agricultural economics, nutrition science, and development policy to address systemic inefficiencies in food systems.
