Joanne Parish is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Winchester, affiliated with the Faculty of Education and the Arts. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of East London (1993) and a PGCE in Primary Education from Manchester Metropolitan University (1996). Her career spans over two decades, with extensive experience in primary education, including roles in Manchester, international schools in China, India, Thailand, and QSI/Eton House groups. She specializes in teaching disadvantaged pupils, children with EAL, and intercultural education.
Jo has held leadership roles such as Whole-School Assessment Coordinator, Primary Languages Coordinator, and Key Stage 2 Leader. Her expertise includes developing ITE students' understanding of EAL pedagogy and promoting intercultural competence. She joined the University of Winchester in 2014, contributing to teacher education programs.
