Joanne Morgan is an Adjunct Professor and Program Director for the Communication Studies Program at Dallas Baptist University (DBU). After joining DBU in 2004 as an adjunct, she transitioned to full-time faculty in 2007 and retired in 2020, continuing as a part-time faculty member. She earned a B.S. in Education from Midwestern State University, an M.A. in Communication from the University of Oklahoma, and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership from DBU in 2013.

Dr. Morgan specializes in reputation and brand management for organizations and crisis communication management. Her Ed.D. research focused on creating a positive digital identity for college/university presidents on institutional websites. She played a pivotal role in establishing DBU’s M.A. in Communication Program, designing courses, recruiting students, and serving as program director. Additionally, she has developed online course content for undergraduate and graduate Communication courses.
Prior to DBU, she taught speech and English in the Arlington Independent School District and worked as an adjunct professor at Mt. View College and Tarrant County College. Her academic career spans over 15 years at DBU, where she emphasizes servant leadership and transformative education. She and her husband are active members of First Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, and she is a proud parent and grandparent.
