Joan Neuner, MD, MPH, is the Georgia Carroll Chair in Women's Health Research and a Professor of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin's School of Medicine. She specializes in General Internal Medicine and leads the Cancer Prevention and Outcomes Program and the Population Health Unit within the Center for Advancing Population Sciences. Her research focuses on equitable healthcare delivery, particularly in women's health and medication adherence, aiming to improve decision-making and reduce disparities in care. Dr. Neuner also oversees the MCW Osteoporosis and Bone Mineral Disorders Clinic, addressing bone health in vulnerable populations.
Education includes an MD from the University of Wisconsin Medical School, a residency and chief residency in Primary Care & Internal Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and an MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health.
Research interests emphasize health disparities in screening mammography, breast cancer treatment experiences, and the impact of socioeconomic factors on healthcare access.
