He served as Secretary (1989-1992) and Director (1992-1998, 2004-2005) of the Graduate School of Business Studies, and held significant administrative roles including Delegate of the Rector for Relations with Society (2001-2005) and General Director of the Institute for Continuing Education (2005-2007). He is a Full Member of the Royal European Academy of Doctors (since 2014) and Member of Section 4 at the Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences since 1999.
Dr. Pont Clemente's research spans Tax Law, Business Administration, Economics, Secularism, and Philosophy. His scholarly work examines the intersection of fiscal policy with social philosophy, exploring how tax systems reflect and shape societal values. He has published extensively on tax administration, taxpayer rights, and the philosophical foundations of economic systems, with particular attention to secularism and freethought. His research demonstrates a consistent focus on power dynamics between tax authorities and citizens, while also exploring broader philosophical questions about citizenship and societal organization.
His publications reveal a career-long engagement with both technical tax issues and broader philosophical inquiries. Early work focused on precise tax mechanisms and administrative procedures, while later publications increasingly incorporated philosophical perspectives on secularism, citizenship, and societal organization. This evolution demonstrates his unique interdisciplinary approach that bridges legal technicality with humanistic philosophy, particularly evident in his recent works addressing contemporary challenges like the societal impact of the pandemic.
