معرفی
Joachim Kuhlemann is a Research Fellow at the Geosciences Department, Faculty of Science, Eberhard Karls University Tübingen. His work spans Cenozoic erosion and uplift of the Alps, glaciation of Corsica and the Mediterranean, exhumation of crystalline basement, and climate reconstruction via dendroclimatologic studies. He contributes to international projects like TOPO Europe and leads field courses integrating geodynamics, remote sensing, and rock analysis.
Research Focus: His research combines sediment budget analysis, low-temperature thermochronology, and palaeogeography to study Alpine evolution. He also investigates Mediterranean mountain paleoclimates through glacial processes and tree-growth patterns in collaboration with other institutions.
Teaching:
- Yearly undergraduate courses: rock determination, geological maps, Earth history lectures, and air photo interpretation.
- Field courses (up to 30 days annually until 2008) covering regional geology in Europe and the Mediterranean, including glacial landscapes and Quaternary topics.
Current Projects: Ongoing monitoring of montane-to-alpine climate in Corsica and interdisciplinary studies on weathering/erosion rates in crystalline basement regions (Corsica, Sardinia, Rila).
