Jo van den Hauwe is a linguist and researcher specializing in sociolinguistics and classroom interaction. He currently serves as the head of teacher training programs for pre-school and primary education at AP Projects, affiliated with AP University College in Antwerp. His career includes roles as a teacher trainer for Dutch in primary education and coordinator of Dutch language courses for non-native speakers at the Interfaculty Centre for Applied Linguistics (UFSIA). He holds degrees in Germanic Philology, Linguistics, and General Linguistics from the University of Antwerp and University of Amsterdam.
His research focuses on classroom interaction patterns in primary education and Dutch as a second language. He has led and collaborated on projects such as SCLASS (sustainability in education), EIPTE (entrepreneurship in teacher training), and Work@OT (workplace learning initiatives).
