Jo Ziebritzki is a postdoctoral researcher and teacher in Art History at Ruhr-University Bochum, specializing in transcultural and gender studies approaches to modern and contemporary art. She holds a Master's in Art Theory from the University of Art and Design, Karlsruhe (2018), and completed her PhD in Global Art History under Prof. Dr. Monica Juneja at Heidelberg University (2023). Her research focuses on the history of art history, migration narratives, and feminist critiques of patriarchal historiography.
She has held fellowships at institutions such as the Warburg Institute (London, 2022) and the Central Institute for Art History (Munich, 2021). Ziebritzki is a founding member of the research networks 'Paths – Methods – Critiques: Women Art Historians 1880–1970' and the Ulmer Verein's research group on women art historians. She manages the Instagram account 'kunst.innen' to disseminate research on women in art to broader audiences.
Her publications include the award-winning monograph Stella Kramrisch, Kunsthistorikerin zwischen Europa und Indien (2021) and co-edited volumes on women art historians. She has contributed to journals like Grey Room and Journal of Art Historiography, analyzing transnational art histories and intersectional methodologies.
