Jo Yarker is a Professor of Occupational Psychology at Birkbeck Business School, University of London, holding a .2FTE fractional post. She is also a Managing Partner of Affinity Health at Work, working in a job-share with Dr. Rachel Lewis. Her research focuses on work, health, and well-being, with expertise in return-to-work strategies for employees with mental health conditions, workplace interventions, and occupational health policy.

Research Interests
Jo’s work emphasizes sustainable return-to-work frameworks (e.g., the IGLOO model), workplace stress management, and the psychological impacts of work environments. She collaborates with organizations like the World Health Organization, Health and Safety Executive (HSE), and International SOS to translate research into policy and practice.

- Lead developer of the HSE Stress Management Competencies (2013 Practitioner Book of the Year)
- Co-designed Birkbeck’s first MRes and Professional Doctorate in Occupational Psychology programs
