Jo Morgan

Jo Morgan serves as a Senior Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education (ITE) within the Faculty of Arts, Creative Industries, and Education (ACE) at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), leading Modern Foreign Languages instruction across primary and secondary phases for undergraduate and postgraduate routes while acting as Programme Lead for the School Based PGCE.

A dedicated languages educator, Morgan has extensive experience spanning primary, secondary, and higher education sectors, specializing in French, Spanish, and German. She recently co-developed a teaching toolkit with Cardiff University and Routes into Languages Wales to strengthen International Languages instruction in Welsh primary schools and boost teacher confidence. Complementing her educational work, she is certified as a mental health first aider and has completed counseling training through Bridgend College.

Her professional focus centers on Modern Foreign Languages pedagogy, teacher development across educational phases, and integrating mental health awareness into educational frameworks. She actively mentors trainee and early-career teachers, contributing to educator preparation through practical support and curriculum innovation.
