Charlie Davis

Charlie Davis is a Senior Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education at the Faculty of Arts, Creative Industries, and Education, University of the West of England (UWE Bristol). She holds a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Physical Education, a PGCE in Secondary Physical Education, and a PGCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. Her role involves supporting PGCE trainees specializing in Physical Education.

Her research and expertise focus on:

• Translating generic secondary pedagogy into practical Physical Education instruction
• Mentoring frameworks for Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and Early Career Teachers (ECT)
• Designing school-based PGCE modules
• Secondary Physical Education curriculum development

Previously, she taught Sports and Health at a Bristol secondary school, where she led the implementation of the Early Careers Framework (ECF) and served as the school's ITT coordinator. She currently contributes to the UWE Initial Teacher Education Team, emphasizing trainee support and pedagogical innovation.
