Jo Cranwell is an Associate Professor in Public Health and Senior Lecturer at the University of Bath's Department for Health, serving as Director of Internationalisation. She holds key roles as Director of Studies for Sport & Exercise Medicine and Global Public Health & Policy. Her research focuses on public health, particularly behavioral effects of tobacco/alcohol media exposure and tobacco industry practices, alongside healthy ageing in women. She contributes to the University's 21st Century Public Health Beacon and Healthy Ageing Network.
Her teaching responsibilities include lecturing on the BSc Health & Exercise Science and MSc Global Public Health & Policy programmes, with international experience. She supervises multiple graduate students and has led curriculum reforms for distance and on-campus programmes.
Externally, she serves on the board of the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and Cut Films' advisory board. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to good health and well-being, and partnerships include the World Health Organisation.
