Dr. Jisun Kim is a Lecturer in Mechanical, Biomedical & Design Engineering at Aston University's School of Engineering and Technology, part of the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. She holds a PhD in Design Research from Brunel University (2013–2018), an MA in Design Management from the University of Leeds (2011–2012), and a BA in Industrial Design. Her research focuses on autonomous vehicles, mobility as a service (MaaS), human-machine interfaces (HMI), and user experience (UX) design. She explores how technology interacts with human behavior in transportation systems, emphasizing accessibility, trust, and safety.

She has held visiting researcher positions at the University of Southampton (2022–present) and collaborated internationally on projects like the C-NAV trust control algorithms for autonomous vehicles.
