Xiaomeng Li

Dr Xiaomeng Li is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety – Queensland (CARRS-Q), QUT, affiliated with the Faculty of Health and School of Psychology & Counselling. She holds a PhD in Traffic and Transportation Planning and Management from Beijing Jiaotong University. Her research focuses on road safety, automated vehicles, human factors, and driver behavior, leveraging driving simulators, VR, and physiological data acquisition systems. Key projects include the development of human-centric automated vehicles, level crossing safety interventions, and evaluating driver interactions with automated systems. She has collaborated on industry projects addressing road user acceptance of AVs, eco-safe driving systems, and work zone safety. As an associate supervisor, she contributes to PhD research on pedestrian interactions with automated vehicles. Dr Li’s work bridges engineering and psychology, emphasizing human-centric design for safer transportation systems.
