Dr. Jingyi Li is a Senior Lecturer in International and Comparative Education and Senior Tutor (PGT) at the Moray House School of Education and Sport, University of Edinburgh, affiliated with the Institute for Education, Community & Society (IECS). She joined the university in 2015 and previously worked with an NGO supporting ethnic minority families in Scotland. Dr. Li holds a PhD in Education (2012), MSc in Childhood Studies (2006), and MA in Social Policy and Administration (2005), all from the University of Edinburgh and University of Nottingham.
Her research focuses on international education policy, curriculum development, citizenship education, and the educational experiences of immigrant communities. Notable areas include comparative analyses of citizenship education between Scotland and China, immigrant parent perspectives, and global policy influences on curriculum design.
Recent work emphasizes student engagement in curriculum co-creation, critical pedagogy in international classrooms, and the impact of Model UN conferences on citizenship education. Her scholarship bridges theory and practice, addressing issues of equity, cultural adaptation, and 21st-century skills.
