Jingxuan Zhang is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Department of Finance, Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta. She holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Boston College (2023), an M.Phil. in Finance and Economics from the University of Cambridge (UK), and dual bachelor degrees in Economics and Finance from the University of Birmingham (UK) and the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (China). Her research focuses on corporate innovation, venture capital, entrepreneurial finance, and IPOs, with a particular emphasis on empirical corporate finance.
Her teaching responsibilities include FIN 322/422 Capital Investment at the undergraduate level. She has also served as a teaching assistant for graduate and undergraduate courses in corporate finance, investment, and international finance at Boston College. Her research has been presented at top conferences such as the American Finance Association (AFA), Financial Management Association (FMA), and Eastern Finance Association (EFA), where she received a runner-up award for her doctoral paper in 2023.
Her current working papers explore patent transactions, venture capital value creation, and patent licensing dynamics. She is affiliated with the University of Alberta’s Business Building in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
