Jing Li is a Professor of Radiation Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she serves as Chair Ad Interim of the Department of CNS Radiation Oncology, Director of Gamma Knife Radiosurgery, and Co-Director of the Brain Metastasis Clinic. Her clinical expertise focuses on treating primary and metastatic central nervous system malignancies in adult patients through advanced radiation techniques.
Dr. Li's research pioneers refinements in stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) for brain and spine metastases, with emphasis on preserving cognitive function and quality of life. She leads pivotal clinical trials comparing SRS to whole-brain radiation therapy (WBRT) for patients with multiple brain metastases (up to 15 lesions) and investigates synergistic combinations of SRS with immunotherapy. Her work extends to managing radiation necrosis through advanced MRI/PET imaging diagnostics and developing novel treatment algorithms, particularly in immunotherapy contexts. She also innovated spinal SRS combined with laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) for spine metastases with epidural disease.
As an active clinical researcher, Dr. Li collaborates with neurosurgery teams in multidisciplinary settings and secures grant support for her trials. Her leadership in the Brain Metastasis Clinic and Gamma Knife Radiosurgery program demonstrates commitment to translating research into improved patient outcomes for CNS malignancies.
