Jina Eleanor Kim is an Associate Professor of Korean Literature & Culture at the University of Oregon, affiliated with the School of Global Studies and Languages and the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures. Her research spans modern Korean literature, sound studies, transmedia storytelling, and Korean diasporic cultures.

Research Focus: Professor Kim explores intersections of colonial modernity, sound media technologies, and transnational cultural production. Her current projects examine auditory texts in colonial Korea and global Korean literature through digital humanities methods.
Teaching Interests: Courses integrate theories of modernism, transnationalism, and postcolonialism, covering topics like diaspora, imperialism, gender, and media convergence. She offers undergraduate and graduate classes on Korean popular culture, transmedia history, and literary prizes.
Publications Trend: Recent work emphasizes radio dramas, sonic aesthetics, and intermedial approaches to Korean studies. She investigates how sound technologies shaped cultural narratives in colonial Korea and contemporary diasporic literature.
