Jim Pritchett

Jim Pritchett is an Honorary Lecturer (Teaching) in the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology & Gastroenterology at the University of Manchester. His research focuses on mechanisms regulating extracellular matrix deposition by hepatic stellate cells during liver fibrosis. Collaborations include work with Newcastle University and Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York.

His research interests center on fibrosis pathogenesis, with emphasis on SOX9 transcription factor roles, myofibroblast activation, and circadian rhythm impacts in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Methodological expertise includes cell culture, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, and in vivo surgical techniques like bile duct ligation.
