Professor Jim Mills is a faculty member at the University of Strathclyde, serving as Director of Humanities Research and former Dean of the Faculty of Law, Arts and Social Sciences. His research focuses on the social history of psychoactive substances, global health history, and colonial/imperial experiences in Asia. He leads a Wellcome Trust-funded project examining pharmaceutical markets in Asia (1900-1945). His work bridges academic research with public engagement through BBC radio appearances and the BAFTA-winning series Addictions.
