Jim Davis is an Associate Professor of Theatre & Performance Studies at Kennesaw State University. He coordinates the Theatre in Society general education course and teaches foundational courses in theatre history, American performance traditions, and theatre studies.

- M.A. in Theatre from University of Northern Iowa

Davis operates as a theatre generalist, combining practical and scholarly work in acting, directing, devising, dramaturgy, and puppetry. His research emphasizes interdisciplinary connections between theatre and broader societal domains like literature, politics, economics, and popular culture.
He has investigated intersections of performance with comic book history, Harlem Renaissance musical theatre, fandom communities, and professional sports culture. This work aligns with Vera Mowry Roberts' vision of theatre as a liberalizing force across academic disciplines.
