معرفی
Jim Ansley is a Professor and Department Head of the Natural Resource Ecology & Management Department at Oklahoma State University (OSU), leading a team of 20 faculty members. His research focuses on invasive woody plants in rangelands, particularly honey mesquite and juniper species, examining their ecological impacts, management strategies (e.g., prescribed fire, herbicides), and potential for bioenergy. He collaborates with the South Central Climate Adaptation Science Center (SC-CASC) to address climate change impacts across Oklahoma, Louisiana, Texas, and New Mexico.
Education: PhD in Agronomy (University of Wyoming, 1983), MS in Range Science (Utah State University, 1979), BA in Biology (Hastings College, 1975).
Teaching: Adjunct instructor at Vernon College, guest lecturer in OSU courses on wildland fire ecology and natural resource management, and presenter for Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
Grants: Hosts SC-CASC and leads projects on climate adaptation, mesquite control, and fire regimes. Recent funding includes a $2.5M grant for SC-CASC operations (2024–2025).
Research Interests: Woody plant encroachment dynamics, fire ecology, bioenergy applications of invasive species, and climate resilience in rangeland ecosystems. His work bridges ecological science with practical land management solutions.
