Research Interests: Dr. Trabulsi’s work investigates the interplay between diet, energy balance, and health outcomes. Her studies explore how macronutrient composition of infant formulas affects gut microbiota and weight gain, and how maternal feeding practices influence child obesity risk. She leads the Energy Balance and Nutrition Lab, focusing on interventions to promote healthy weight trajectories in early childhood.
Lab Activities: Current projects include examining the impact of first foods on infant gut microbiota and evaluating dietary approaches to cardiovascular health. The lab also investigates complementary feeding strategies for infants with congenital heart defects.
Funding & Grants: Research supported by NIH grants and private foundations. Notable collaborations include studies with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania.
