Dr. Jillian Seniuk Cicek is an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering Education at the University of Manitoba's Price Faculty of Engineering. Her work focuses on Indigenous initiatives, methodologies, and pedagogies in engineering education, alongside examining engineering student perspectives, identity, and learning. She holds a PhD in Engineering Education from the University of Manitoba, complemented by MFA degrees in Visual Arts (University of Cincinnati) and Creative Writing (Purdue University), as well as B.Ed. and BFA degrees from the University of Manitoba.
Her research explores epistemological tensions in engineering education and the competencies required for future engineering practice. Notable interests include decolonizing curricula, integrating Indigenous knowledges, and addressing ethical dimensions in accreditation and technology development. Dr. Seniuk Cicek teaches courses on communication, engineering education research, career design, and decolonizing practices.
